Eleanor Virginia Henning, age 88, of Bel Air, MD, died on September 4, 2010 at Hummingbird Manor Assisted Living in Aberdeen, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late John P. Durkee Jr. and Ella May Lamkin Durkee, and wife of the late William E. Henning Jr. She retired from Baltimore County Government after 35 years of service, and had worked for Spiro T. Agnew when he was a Baltimore County Executive. An avid artist, she graduated from Eastern High School, and received a scholarship to the Maryland Institute College of Art. She attended Bible Studies at Bel Air United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Henning is survived by her daughter, Diane E. Sengstacke and husband, Chris, of Bel Air, MD; her son, William E. Henning III and wife, Gail, of Jarrettsville, MD; sister-in-law, Agnes M. Henning of Timonium, MD; nephews, Mark Henning and wife, Catherine, of Denver, NC, R. Jeffrey Henning and wife, Eileen, of Burke, VA, and Matthew Henning and wife, JoAnn, of Glendale, AZ; nieces, Barbara Henning Myers and husband, Ronald, of Monkton, MD, and Jean Henning Seidle and husband, Michael, of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Kathleen (Katie) Henning of Delta, PA, Jaqueline (Jackie) Henning of Jarrettsville, MD, James and Allison Sengstacke, both of Bel Air, MD; and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
