Eleanor Pippin Carr, age 94, of Bel Air, MD passed away on November 22, 2017 at Forest Hill Heights in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Bristol, VA, she was the daughter of Harry and Esther Pippin and was the wife of the late Walter Carr. She was a World War II US Army veteran stationed at Wright Field in Ohio for most of her service. She had received the American Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. She had worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 19 years before retiring in 1969 as a clerk in the Comptroller's Office. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where she volunteered. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed crocheting.
Mrs. Carr is survived by son, William O. Carr and wife, Judith, of Bel Air; two granddaughters, Megan A. Dixon of Abingdon and Alison E. Carr of Cleveland, OH; two great-granddaughters, Lexi Schmitt-Carr and Selene Leon both of Bel Air; and two great-grandsons, Justin Leon of Bel Air and Colton Dixon of Abingdon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, College Fund, 1200 E. Churchville Road, Bel Air, MD 21014.
