Eleanor O'Brien Edwards

Eleanor O'Brien Edwards age 89, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Jemina (Browne) Hicks and the loving wife of the late James Edwards.

Eleanor was an active and passionate member of her community. She was a proud member of the Harford County Stamp Club and the Iris Society, where she shared her love for collecting and gardening. A long-time member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, she found great comfort in her faith and the fellowship of her church family.

One of Eleanor’s most unique and remarkable talents was her ability to find four-leaf clovers. Her passion for this hobby made national news as she went on to collect over 1,976 of these rare finds during her lifetime, a testament to her patience, perseverance, and connection to the natural world.

Eleanor is survived by her devoted son, Jerry Edwards and his wife Elizabeth (Harrell) Edwards of Abingdon, Maryland.

Eleanor’s gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and extraordinary abilities will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
