Edwin Patricio Mejia

Edwin Patricio Mejia, age 63, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on February 9, 2025, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Born in Quito, Ecuador, he was the son of Blanca Flores and the late Luis Mejia and the stepson of Piedad Mejia. He was the beloved husband of Sandra E. Mejia.

Edwin dedicated his life to serving others, retiring in 2023 from Lutheran Ministries. Earlier in his career, he worked as a truck driver. A man of deep faith, he found joy in playing worship music on his guitar and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was resourceful, loved fixing things, and took great pride in cooking for his family. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and stepmother, Edwin is survived by his daughters, Maria Cristina (Bobby) Ghoshal and Valentina (James) Bell; his son, Mateo (Kaylee) Mejia; and his grandchildren, Remi, Louie, Vance, Rowan, and Kai. He is also survived by seven siblings and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Mountain Christian Church (Walker Chapel) in Joppa, Maryland. A service will follow, with interment at Mountain Christian Church Cemetery.
