Edward Vance Baker, Sr. of Fallston, master locksmith and owner of Access Lock, died Friday at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Meaghan O'Leary Baker, by his sons, Edward Vance Baker, Jr. of Elkton, Daniel James Baker of Rosedale, Benjamin Joseph Baker of Nottingham, his daughter Emily Anne Baker at home. He is also survived by stepsons Sean P. Knefel of Rosedale and Michael V. Knefel of Bel Air, and ten grandchildren. His beloved family was his pride and joy, and the central dedication of his life.
Mr. Baker served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. In his lifelong profession as a locksmith he owned and worked at various local companies, and served as President of the Associated Locksmiths of America. His company, Access Lock, specializes in service to hospitals and colleges.
To honor Mr. Baker's wishes, the family will establish a memorial fund for the ongoing care of his daughter. In lieu of flowers contributions, payable to Edward Baker Memorial, may be sent to: P.O. Box 282, Fallston, MD 21047.
