Edward J. Bryant

September 4, 1920 — July 25, 2004

EDWARD JOHN BRYANT, a retired nuclear physicist with the U.S. Army Ballistic Research Labs at Aberdeen Proving Ground and consultant with KAMAN Science Technology and General Electric Tempo passed through this life at home after succumbing to his long battle with lung cancer, Sunday, July 25th, he was 83.

Mr. Bryant the son of the late Adalbert and Rose Drozdal Blodzinski and is preceded in death by his brother Henry Blodzinski and sister Alice Ratajczak. His dear sisters, Helen Zylka and Virginia Maciejwski reside in Cheektowaga, New York.

Mr. Bryant is survived by his loving wife, Betty Baldwin Bryant; his daughters, Barbara Bryant; Susan Inskeep, both of Bel Air; Deborah Carvan and husband, Thomas of Ocean City, Maryland; Jacqueline Mack and husband, Stephen of Bel Air. “Pop-pop” leaves his cherished grandchildren, Jessica and Laura Inskeep, Thomas II and Timothy Carven, and Rachel and Stephanie Mack. Additionally, Mr. Bryant leaves numerous nephews and nieces in Harford County as well as in and around Buffalo, New York.

Born in Buffalo, New York, on September 4, 1920, Edward Bryant attended Canisius College, Buffalo, New York, served in the Naval Merchant Marines during WW II and upon his return received his B.S. from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Mr. Bryant was a Kappa Sigma as well as an assistant football coach and player.

Additionally, Mr. Bryant played professionally for the Buffalo Bills and amateur baseball in Aberdeen, Maryland for his future father-in-law, Frederick B. Baldwin, Sr. Mr. Bryant was an avid golfer and card player at the Maryland Golf and Country Club.

Mr. Bryant made notable contributions to the defense of our country being recognized by the U.S. Army for his contributions in strengthening international relations between the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany, and by the American Defense Preparedness
Association for faithful service his efforts for the common defense of the United States of America.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 572, Bel Air, Maryland 21014.
