Edward Donald Jehnert Sr.

March 8, 1934 — June 7, 2008

EDWARD DONALD JEHNERT SR., age 74, of Forest Hill, MD, died on June 7, 2008 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Parkville, MD, he was the son of the late Walter Edward and Alva Wilkinson Jehnert. He retired after 43 years at Koppers/United Manufactured Machines where he was a machinist and was a member of the International Machinist Local Union in Baltimore. He was also a member of Christ Episcopal Church and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. An avid gardener and Baltimore Colts fan, his idol was John Unitus. He enjoyed all sports and attending baseball games at Ripken Stadium, as well as, playing and watching golf. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to South America, and spending time with his dog, Benjamin.

Mr. Jehnert is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ruth Norman Jehnert of Forest Hill, MD; a son, Edward D. Jehnert Jr. and his wife, Jenny, of Bel Air, MD; three daughters, Deborah A. Pleines and her husband, Richard, of Conowingo, MD, Fay L. Bushong and long time companion, Ernie, of New Park, PA, and Carolyn R. Turnbull and her husband, Gordon, of Nashua, NH; a brother, Lawrence A. Jehnert of Bel Air, MD; and four grandchildren, C. Raymond Bushong of Stewartstown, PA, Adam M. Bushong of New Park, PA, Sydney M. Turnbull and MacKenzie A. Turnbull, both of Nashua, NH. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, George W. Jehnert.

Pallbearers will be Adam M. Bushong, Kenneth N. Blevins, Rodney L. Blevins, Scott Karg, Edward Nichols, Lawrence M. Jehnert, James Bruce Cannon, and David W. Vickers. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Blevins, Gilbert Gentry, Kenny Cooper, Peter Fritz, Dean Bedsaul, Charles Vickers, Zeke Barbour, and Billy Cannon.
