EDWARD CYRILL KOTRAS, age 84, died May 6, 2003 at his home in Bel Air. Born August 26, 1918 in Harford Furnace, Maryland, he was the son of the late Cyrill and Anna Kotras. A graduate of Aberdeen High School, he attended the University of Baltimore and the University of Maryland. He served in the Army during WW II, and went on to become a vehicle project engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground in the Material Testing Directorate. Upon his retirement in 1980 after 43 years of government service, he pursued his many interests of farming, traveling, photography and Czech culture. He was an active member of the Belcamp Sokol Organization and the Czech Heritage Association of Baltimore.
Mr. Kotras is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary T. Kotras of Bel Air; sons, Edward A. Kotras of Jarrettsville; Richard A. Kotras of Frederick, Maryland; and a daughter, Diane M. Kotras of Arlington, Virginia. He was predeceased by one daughter, Barbara A. Kotras.
