EDWARD CARL WILSON, age 76, of Darlington, died at Mariner Health of Bel Air on July 3, 2004. Born in Coalwood, West Virginia, he was the son of the late John Marvin Wilson and the late Vera Caroline Poole Irwin. He was a warehouse worker at Bata Shoe Company until it closed and then became a custodian at Fallston High School until he retired. The children of Fallston High School loved “Mr. Ed” as they called him and even dedicated a yearbook to him. He was a former deacon and usher at Oak Grove Baptist Church. He loved and was devoted to his church family. A resident of Dublin since August of 1955, he loved to eat and especially loved chocolate pie. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and the rest of his family and neighbors. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 55 years, Retha Mae Murphy Wilson; one son, Joseph Erwin Wilson of Bel Air; one daughter, Rejeana Dare Wilson of Darlington; two brothers, Jack Wilson of Lake Wales, Florida; Johnnie Wilson of Bel Air; one sister, Jearlane Greene of Darlington; three grandchildren; a step-mother, Marie Norris of Darlington; and also numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Fleming Wilson and James Wilson.
