EDWARD A. SHATTUCK, age 79, died at his home in Bel Air, Maryland on March 9, 2004. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Arthur Hayden and Marybelle Catto Shattuck. When he graduated from high school he went to a trade school and studied pattern making. He used this skill in his avocation in his wood shop making gifts for family and friends. He had retired from Bethlehem Steel at Sparrows Point, Maryland as a new construction estimator. He was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years, the Masons and the Blue Lodge in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He was past Chief and past Royal Deputy of the Order of Scottish Clans. He also served as an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Bel Air, Maryland. His family said he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII during D Day in the European Campaign.
Mr. Shattuck is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eileen L. Anderson Shattuck; two daughters, Marjorie L. Booth of Dry Creek, West Virginia; Sandra M. Houck of Towson, Maryland; two grandchildren, Marybeth K. Heckler of Littleton, Colorado; Alexandra M. Houck of Towson, Maryland. He is also survived by his step-mother, Eleanor Garven Shattuck of Quincy, Massachusetts. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Shattuck and Melvin Shattuck.
