Edna Sokel

Edna Age 97, of Parkville, Maryland, passed away on December 23, 2024, at Oak Crest Senior Living in Parkville. Edna who was born in Baltimore, Maryland, was the daughter of the late Thomas and Henrietta (Valiant) Hanrahan and the beloved wife of Edwin Sokel.

Edna attended Eastern High School and worked for the Telephone Company for 36 years. She was married to Edwin for 49 years. In her free time, Edna enjoyed golfing, entertaining friends and family, hosting parties and was always eager to bring people together. She was also involved in ceramics, creating art with her friends.

A social and vibrant person, Edna's warmth and hospitality will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Edna is survived by son, Peter Novak, step children; Eric Sokel and his wife Anna, Brian Sokel, and his wife Tammy; Kimberly Irwin; grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney and her husband Jared, Ricky and his wife Molly, Paris, Gavin, Shenan, and Sikara. 

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by son, Randy Novak, and sister, Irma Linton.
