Edna Delp Reed of Bel Air, MD died April 29, 2009, after a lengthy illness of Parkinson's disease, at home. She was 85.
Born and raised on a farm in Whiteford, MD, she was one of 11 children of Strawder and Mollie Hash Delp. She is survived by her husband, John Henry Reed of 65 years; two daughters, Donna Coale of Bel Air and Jeanne Wagner of Plano, TX; one son, John T. Reed of Fallston. She is also survived by brothers, Granville Delp of Roville, CA; Clarence Delp of Whiteford and sisters, Joanne Moxley of Fresno, CA and Frances Bowden of South Beach, CA; Mary Williams of Washington Boro, PA; Louise Hamilton of Willow Street, PA. She is also survived by half sisters Veda Cooper and Eva Cole, and a half-brother, Daniel Delp, all of Whiteford, MD; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Robert Delp and John Delp; and sisters, Ethel Patton and Ruth Gallan.
Edna was a loving and happy person; always had a smile for everyone; and loved to cook and garden. She loved crafts and made clothes for her girls. She was a member of the Homemakers Club and sold Avon for a time. She was the first flag lady in Maryland and Pennsylvania employed by the late Clive Hendrix from which much notoriety was received. She had an opportunity to travel prior to becoming ill.
