Edith J. Hicks

Edith J. Hicks, age 70, of Churchville, Maryland passed away on March 16, 2021 at her home. Born in Cullowhee, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Thelma (Bumgarner) Dills and the late Roscoe Bryson. She retired in 2009 from Baltimore County Public Schools at Seneca Elementary School where she worked for 31 years as an instructional aide. Edith loved going to church and participating in church activities. She attended Perry Hall Baptist Church and was a former Sunday School teacher at North Point Baptist Church. She enjoyed scrapbooking, spending time with her grandchildren, walking and being outside.

Edith is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Matthew) Denny; son, Brian (Sandy) Hicks; sisters, Evelyn (Carroll) Broom, Ethel (John) Watson and Carolyn (Tim) Ellis; grandchildren Mason & Aidan Denny, Anthony (Kathryn) Polvinale and Lucy Polvinale.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roy (Angelique) Bryson, and sister, Hilda Tollie.

The family will be hosting a memorial service on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Perry Hall Baptist Church with a visitation from 10-11 am followed by the service at 11 am.
