Edith Herrman Boggs

September 27, 1933 — March 31, 2022

Edith Herrman Boggs, age 88, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on March 31, 2022 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Harriette (Minson) Herrman and wife of the late Harold Boggs. She met the love of her life at the age of 18, and they shared 69 years of marriage before his passing in February 2022. Next to her faith, her husband, and her children, music was her life. Edith was a gifted classical pianist and arranger who composed and performed numerous arrangements of sacred music for piano during her 50-year career as a church musician, most of which she spent at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Bel Air. She made three recordings which include many of her piano arrangements. She also distinguished herself in an equally long and successful career as a private piano teacher, during which she taught hundreds of students and served as a founding member of the Harford Co. Piano Teachers Association. She enjoyed camping, reading the newspaper, and discussing religion and politics.

Edith is survived by her son, Christopher (Anysia) Boggs; daughters, Cherie (Herb Jr.) Pace, Laurie Boggs, Debbie (Bob) Mallory; grandchildren, Melody (Steven) Ghirardello; great-grandsons, Elijah Ghirardello, Micah Ghirardello; brother, William Frances Herrman. She is also survived by two grandsons on the way, Peter Joseph Boggs and Walter Harold Boggs, and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Edith was preceded in death by brother, Walter Davis Herrman.
