Edgar Harold Smith

April 7, 1930 — June 22, 2003

EDGAR HAROLD SMITH, age 73, of Edgewood since 1964, died at his home on June 22, 2003. Born in High Point, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Edgar Percy and Lucille Mattie Newby Smith. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and for 20 years of duty as a Chief Warrent Officer. He was a member of the American Legion and a volunteer for the SALT Council. He also worked for Electrolux for 25 years and was Harford County Fuller Brush Company representative for 25 years. He was very involved with community activities.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kay Sugiyama Smith; three daughters, Jan L. Hasselbusch and her husband, Randall C. of Joppa; Angela Kay Smith of Edgewood; Rosemary Ann Smith of Edgewood; one brother, Ronnie Smith; three sisters, Beona England; Polly Bowers; Cynthia Parker, all of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Joshua D. Wojcik of Edgewood; Jennifer M. Hasselbusch of Joppa; and Suzanne K. Hasselbusch of Joppa.
