Ed Mabe

Ed Mabe, age 87, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on February 23, 2022 at his home. Born in Sparta, North Carolina, he was the son of Edgar and Thelma (Atwood) Mabe and husband of the late Carol (Irwin) Mabe. He retired from Montgomery Ward in 1996 where he worked in Tire Sales for 20 years.  After retirement, he had also worked at BJ's in Abingdon in the Tire Department. He was a longstanding member of the Abingdon ELKS and served as a trustee for many years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, football and baseball and liked going to the casinos. In his younger years, he managed a BATA Shoe Company baseball & softball team.  He loved spending time with family and his dog "Queenie".

Ed is survived by his son, Steven (Rose) Mabe; daughter, Nancy (Mike) Hopkins; grandchildren, Kevin Landals, Daniel Mabe, Robert Seiser II and Derrick Rembold; step-grandchildren, Toby Vincenti and Matthew Vincenti; great-grandsons, Danny I. Mabe and Aiden Landals; sister, Christine Irwin; and brother, Roger Mabe.

 In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Vincenti.
