Earl Clayton Daugherty Sr., age 85, of Aberdeen, MD, died on February 18, 2011 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Bel Air, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence Earl and Mary Elizabeth Johnson Daugherty. A POW during WWII, he served our country in the U.S. Army and was a life member of the American Legion Post in Rising Sun and the VFW Post in Port Deposit. He had worked in food service for the U.S. Government, and enjoyed watching the Orioles, and loved to play bingo.
Mr. Daugherty is survived by his son, Earl Clayton Daugherty Jr. of Rising Sun, MD; sisters, Irene Brooks of Belding, MI, Nancy Woods of Fayetteville, AR, and Shirley Blevins of Conowingo, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Helen Cullum, Ida Bishop, and John, Robert, Madison, Curtis, and Kenneth Daugherty.
Pallbearers will be John Blevins, Ersel Blevins, George Staples, Eddie Staples, Harry Shires, and Bill Moore.
