E. Michael ''Mickie'' Vogel

E. Michael "Mickie" Vogel, age 70, of Havre de Grace, MD, died on January 29, 2011, at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Oliver John and Dorothy Roberta Noonan Vogel. A graduate of Bel Air High School and Temple University, he was a longtime engineer with the Army Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He considered himself fortunate to have a career that applied his engineering skills and love of aviation, to the benefit of the Army mission. He especially enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Deep Creek Lake, MD, where he was a nature enthusiast, and avid skier, golfer and fisherman. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad.

Mr. Vogel is survived by his wife of 15 years, Linda Grantz (Gross) Vogel of Havre de Grace, MD; sons, Eric M. Vogel of Merrimack, NH, Ryan J. Vogel and wife, Jen, of Bridgton, ME, Kevin E. Gross and wife, Stacy, of Columbia, SC; daughter, Kelly E. Martin of Havre de Grace, MD; and 10 grandchildren, Grace, Jack, and Olivia Vogel of Merrimack, NH, Alli and Zach Vogel of Bridgton, ME, Savannah and Blake Gross of Columbia, SC, and James and Elizabeth Martin, and Thomas Little, of Havre de Grace, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Marcia Vogel.
