Dyanne Marie Duffy Barnes, a resident of Bel Air, MD, died at the age of 48 on August 4, 2016 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. She was born in Des Moines, IA to Paul Joseph Duffy and Sharon Marie (Porter) Duffy and in 1969 moved to Raleigh, NC where she grew up. She was a 1986 graduate of Sanderson High School and in 1990 earned her Degree in Recreational Therapy from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. In 2012 she received her RN Degree from Harford Community College. She loved being a nurse and was named Baltimore Nurse of the Year in 2015. For the love of her patients she worked through her pain until January of 2016. Her family was her life.
Survivors include her husband Matthew John Barnes; her children Ashley Marie Barnes, Meghan Nicole Barnes and Sarah Denise Barnes; her siblings Greggory Paul Duffy, Kevin Patrick Duffy and Lisa Duffy Blalock; three nieces and two nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Leslie's Week, P.O. Box 5856, Annapolis, MD 21043 or at lesliesweek.org. This organization donates a week vacation to families whose mother is diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer.
