Dr. Orazio ''Ivy'' Sindoni, Phd

Dr. Orazio "Ivy" Sindoni, Phd, age 64, of Joppa, MD, died on August 8, 2009 at his friends home. Born in Barcellona PG, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Branka Fenic Sindoni. He came to the United States at the age of 30, where he became a citizen and went to work for the U.S. Government. He was a Theoretical Physicist where his work had both environmental and medical applications. A devout Catholic, he was devoted to the Madonna of Tindari, his family believes he passed on to a better life. Social in nature, he was intellectual and loved conversation. He had a rich and full life, and loved eating and socializing at Fortunato's in Edgewood. He also loved boating, the beach, swimming and vacationing in Mongiove. He liked watching and reading science fiction.

Dr. Sindoni is survived by his wife, Kay Holland Sindoni of Joppa, MD; son, Giuseppe Liugi A.F. Sindoni of Joppa, MD; daughter, Bianca E.R. Sindoni of Joppa, MD; brother, Thomas Kardos of LaPuente, CA; and sister, Maria Lucrezia Sindoni of Barcellona, Sicily.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, 401 N. Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231 and should be earmarked for "cancer research".
