Dr. Michael G. Nagle, age 68, of Bel Air, MD passed away on December 20, 2021, at Christiana Health System in Newark, Delaware. Born in New York, NY, he was the beloved son of Kathleen (Keaveny) Nagle and the late Gerard Nagle, and husband of Denise (Knox) Nagle.
“Dr. Mike” grew up in New York City where he loved going to the beach and surfing. He attended Saint John’s University and continued his studies at Georgetown University where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He owned and operated a dental practice in NYC until a stroke left him unable to continue. He passed on his practice to his beloved sister, while moving his wife and children to Maryland to become an owner of the Holiday Inn in Aberdeen.
Later in his life he found meaning and joy in helping others find sobriety through AA. In recent years he suffered a fall and had to be admitted to Elkton Nursing & Rehab but always enjoyed the company of his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was known among friends and family for his wit, humor, intelligence, generosity, enjoyment of music, love of Pepsi & pizza, a good steak, and sweets of all kinds.
In addition to his mother and wife, Dr. Nagle is survived by his sons, Gerard Nagle and his wife Holly, Dr. William Nagle and his wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Nola, Benton and Mckenna Nagle; sister and brother in-law, Kathy and Thomas Loughlin; brother in-law, Andrew Mursch; nieces, Katie Eberhardt, Madison Mursch and Cassidy Mursch; great nephew, Jude Eberhardt; and cousin, Eugene Keaveny. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Dr. Karen Nagle.
A Memorial Fund has been established to support children in need, who may not be able to afford dental care. Contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church – Karen Nagle Memorial Fund, 7750 Beneva Road, Sarasota, Florida 34238.
