DR. LEON T. KATCHMAR, 77, of Churchville, died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on November 19, 2002. Born in Watervliet, New York, he was the son of the late Joachim and Agatha Kycey Katchmar. He was retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground after 30 years of service where he was a research psychologist. He served in the Navy during WWII. He was an adjunct professor at George Washington University and Johns Hopkins University. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Sigma XI, and Campus Hills’ Roy Rogers Breakfast Club. He was a general partner of Katchmar Family, LLC.
Mr. Katchmar is survived by his wife of 50 years, Clay C. Cassell Katchmar, three sons, Peter J. Katchmar of Denver, Colorado, Michael Colby Katchmar of Denver, Colorado, and Eric R. Katchmar of Lutherville, two daughters, Dr. Elizabeth K. Bowman of Aberdeen and Martha C. Jonas of Socarro, New Mexico, a sister, Ann K. Bazar of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and 11 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Lawrence Bowman, Kyle Bowman, Peter Katchmar, Michael Katchmar, Eric Katchmar, and Robert Murphy.
