DR. JEAN MARIE DELANEY, age 73, of Bel Air, died in Lorien Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on December 28, 2004. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late John Francis and Genevieve Marie Boulton Reilly, and the wife of the late Donald Kendall Delaney. She began teaching Art in Ohio in 1953 and continued after moving to Maryland in 1956 where she taught in St. Mary’s and Baltimore Counties. She received her Master’s Degree at Loyola College, Baltimore in 1979. She furthered her education by earning her PhD at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee in 1993. She taught at Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She received numerous Art Education awards at the local, state, and national levels. She and her family were active members of the Bush River Yacht Club. She was a member of the Harford Artists.
Dr. Delaney is survived by one daughter, Laura M. Delaney of Bel Air; two brothers, William Reilly Of Westfield, New Jersey; James Reilly of California; two sisters, Margaret Gausz of Watchung, New Jersey; and Rose Betza of Willingboro, New Jersey. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, John F. Reilly and George Edward Reilly.
