DOROTHY TUCKER GREEN, age 92, of Forest Hill, MD, died on September 2, 2006 at Rock Spring Village, Forest Hill, MD. Born and raised in Forest Hill, she was the daughter of the late Willard LeRoy and Catherine Caroline Andrews Tucker and the wife of the late John Garland Green. She attended Centre Methodist Church growing up and was a devoted member of Bel Air United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She graduated from Bel Air High School in 1931. After secretarial school, Mrs. Green worked for the State of Maryland and retired with over 30 years of service. In 1939, she married her husband Garland Green. For a decade, Mrs. Green chaired a local committee of the American Field Service which sponsored an exchange student program at Bel Air High School. Mrs. Green enjoyed hand crafts including needlepoint, crocheting, and knitting. After she lost her sight, she continued knitting more than 300 receiving blankets for Delaware Perinatal Association. She loved to garden and was an avid bridge player. After retirement, Mrs. Green traveled extensively . Her family said she never met a stranger, possessed a great sense of fun and an extraordinarily generous heart. She lived for her family and was deeply loved and admired by its members.
Mrs. Green is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Baldwin Morton of Newark, DE; two grandchildren, Richard S. Baldwin III and his wife, Jana, of Vienna, VA and Ann Baldwin Bates and her husband, Christopher, of Wallingford, PA; and four great-grandchildren, Davis Baldwin, Tanner Baldwin and Ella Baldwin, all of Vienna, VA, and Nicholas Bates of Wallingford, PA. Other survivors include an “adopted” daughter Inge Sons Bailey and members of the Philip K. Morton family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one brother and two sisters.
