Dorothy Thomas

Dorothy M. Thomas (Norris), age 87, of Bel Air, MD departed this life and gained her wings on March 30, 2021 at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation in Bel Air, MD. Born and raised in Baltimore County, MD, she was the daughter of Clara (Beasley) Smith and wife of the late Clifton Thomas, Sr. of Baltimore, MD. Dorothy – loving known as “Dot” – was educated at Carver Elementary and High School in Towson, MD. She lived in Harford County most of her adult life and worked at several different occupations, including Benson’s Meat Market in Fallston, MD and Harford Mutual Insurance Company in Bel Air, MD where she worked until her retirement. Before her health failed, “Dot” was a long-time active member of New Hope Baptist Church in Bel Air, enjoyed playing Bingo and looked forward to all holidays, especially July 4th.

Dorothy leaves to mourn her passing, four children - Larry Thomas (Tucson, AZ), Aaron D. Thomas, Sr. and wife Carla (Oxford, PA), Sharon Stansbury and Maria Everette (Bel Air, MD); three sisters, Ruth Benjamin, Annie Caldwell, Rachel Amos; and a brother, John Beasley; nine loving grandchildren who were the light of her life, a host of great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and great friends.

In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Joyce Eileen and Deborah Elaine Thomas, son, Clifton William Thomas, Jr., brother, Edgar (Sam) Beasley, and sisters, Clara Williams and Beatrice Lewis.
