Dorothy Robinson Pettingill

Dorothy Robinson Pettingill, 87, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Easter Sunday. Born in Rutledge, MD, she was the daughter of William Lee and Henrietta Robinson. As a teenager and young adult, Dorothy was an avid equestrian and belonged to the Harford Elkridge Hunt Club. She graduated from Jarrettsville High School in 1948 and worked for PNC Bank as a Trust Assistant for many years. Devoted to nature and animals, Dorothy supported the World Wildlife Fund, The Nature Conservancy, and the Delaware Humane Association. A lifelong reader, Dorothy also enjoyed needlework, playing bridge, and volunteering for the American Red Cross.

She leaves behind her son, Robert A. Pettingill of Christiana, DE; daughter, Susan L. Stewart of AZ; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and her brother, George W. Robinson of Bel Air, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Lee Daughton.
