Dorothy N. Winfield, age 79, of Bel Air, MD, died May 15, 2010, at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation in Bel Air. Born in Baltimore City, she was the daughter of the late James Johns and Helen Stinchcomb Johns, and wife of the late McKinley C. Winfield. She volunteered at Franklin Square Hospital, belonged to a professional secretary association, at one time holding the position of President, and was an active member of Calvary Baptist church, even during her decline in health. She was an amazing cook, decorated wedding cakes, and was also known as the "card lady" because she made cards for everyone for every occasion.
Mrs. Winfield is survived by her sons, David Winfield and his wife, Lynn, of Forest Hill, Jeffrey Winfield, of Bel Air, and Philip Winfield and his wife, Sandra, of Bel Air; her grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, and Philip Winfield, Andrew Hundley, and Emily Payne; one great-grandchild, Maddi Payne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
