Dorothy Loomis Ryan

Dorothy Loomis Ryan, age 77, of Bel Air, MD, died on January 26, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Wilson, PA, and a resident of Bel Air for 73 years, she was the daughter of the late George R. and Elizabeth "Betty" M. Loomis and wife of the late Kenneth L. Ryan. She was a very active woman who loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member and active volunteer at both Bel Air United Methodist Church, the town of Bel Air and the Medical Records Department at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. An avid bingo player at Fallston Volunteer Fire Department, Dorothy also loved to read and especially enjoyed caring for others.

Mrs. Ryan is survived by her son, Robert O. Ryan and wife, Vicki Lynn, of Forest Hill, MD; daughter, Lori Ryan Raab and husband, Dave J., of Jarrettsville, MD; three grandchildren, Meaghan Ryan, Katie Byard, and Erinn Raab; and two great-grandchildren, Lucia Esposito and Kyle Byard.
