Dorothy Jean Albizo

Dorothy Jean Albizo, age 91, of Silver Spring, Maryland passed away on May 5, 2022 at Bedford Court Healthcare Center in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Born in Walkersville, Maryland, she was the daughter of Glenn and Julia (Culler) Zimmerman and wife of the late Johnnie Albizo. She was an educator who taught elementary students for most of her career and then later taught adults who were working to preserve or advance their careers. She enjoyed books, music, art, theater, and baseball, especially the Orioles. She played the piano and had a lovely singing voice. She also loved nature and delighted in feeding and watching the birds and other wildlife in her garden, which she enjoyed tending.

Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother and tirelessly and passionately loved and cared for her family. She was known as a great conversationalist, with an active, well-rounded mind, a knowledge of current events and a love of people. Throughout her long life, she carried herself with dignity and grace.   

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Joel Albizo (Victoria) and Noel G. Albizo (Lynn); daughter, Juliet A. Fee (Craig); brother, Glenn "Jack" D. Zimmerman, Jr.; grandchildren, Nicolas, Monica, Julian, Tyler, Nathaniel, and Adam.
