Dorothy Isabelle Kahl

DOROTHY ISABELLE KAHL, age 88, of Abingdon, MD, died on September 11, 2006, at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Dorothea Wilhelmina Diller Darney and the wife of the late Jerome J. Kahl, whom she married on August 10, 1937. She was a proud homemaker who made a great apple pie. She was a lifetime member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Bradshaw, MD. She enjoyed crafts, especially home decorating, painting, and gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Kahl is survived by one son, James V. Kahl of Edgewood, MD; two daughters, Catherine A. Keller of Abingdon, MD, and Mary M. Kahl of Frederick, MD; one brother, Daniel F. Darney of Ft. Pierce, FL; two sisters, Elizabeth R. King of Abingdon, MD, and Eleanor Pressell of Belcamp, MD; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Kahl was predeceased by one son, Jerome Joseph Kahl Jr., and eight siblings, James V. Darney, Frederick Darney, John Darney, George Darney, Christopher Darney, Katherine C. Phillips, Anne Laubach, and Margaret Kahl.
