Dorothy G. Goheen, age 95, formerly of Joppa, Md., passed away on May 25, 2012, at Oak Crest Village in Parkville, Md.
Born in Devon, Penn., she was the daughter of the late John Wilson Greenberger and Martha E. Latch, and wife, for 50 years, of the late James W. Goheen.
She served on active duty for 10 years as a nurse in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. Eighteen months were spent in New Caledonia in the South Pacific, taking care of the wounded. She also served at various East and West Coast Hospitals. She held a lifelong special place in her heart for all those who served in the Navy and Marine Corp.
She was an avid reader of mystery stories, enjoyed dining with friends, golfing, bowling, crafts, playing bridge and loved her Siamese cats. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and contributing to their education at The John Carroll School in Bel Air, Md., and loved to hear about all the achievements within her extended family.
Mrs. Goheen is survived by her sons, James Michael Goheen of El Monte, Calif., and John Wilson Goheen and wife, Mary, of Bel Air, Md., grandchildren, Joshua T., Alyssa J. and Emily T. Goheen all of Bel Air, Md.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patrice Ann Goheen.
