Dorothy Eloise Miller

Dorothy Eloise Miller (nee Wilkes), age 78, of Elkton, Maryland passed away on March 12, 2023 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Fort Pierce, Florida, she was the daughter of Robert Wilkes and Aline Mehan. She retired from Harford Community College where she taught English and was the faculty member with the highest seniority. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education at Bloomsburg State College in 1964 and her Master’s degree in 1966, along with a Master’s degree in Administration from Johns Hopkins and a Doctorate in Education from Columbia University. She was an avid golfer, and enjoyed boating, water skiing and snow skiing. She was a dog lover and a patron of the fine arts. She had an inquisitive mind and at one time was active in politics. She was a member of the American Association of University Women.

Dorothy is survived by her brother, Brian Wilkes of Pinckneyville, IL; and significant other, Ron Corun.
