Dorothea "Dora Lee" Archer Woelper

January 27, 1939 — April 16, 2022

Woelper, Dorothea Lee Archer “Dora Lee”, passed away on April 16th.  Born on January 27, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland to Helen Barbara Kunkel and Carvil Reid “Boots” Archer, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Elizabeth Archer Sheehan; and her brother John Carvil Reid Archer. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, John Thomas Woelper “Tom”; children Helen Carvil Reid Anderson (Fran), John Thomas Woelper, Jr. (Heidi), Cornelia Lee Archer Connors  “Nelee” (Mark); grandchildren, Alexander Reid Anderson, William Archer Anderson, Alejandro Daniel Felipe Woelper, Tomás Federico Woelper, Elizabeth Finley Connors, and Mary Archer Connors.  Dora Lee was raised in Bel Air and graduated from Mount St. Agnes in 1956 and attended Villa Julie College.

Dora Lee was devoted to her family. She could often be found attending a school function or cheering on her children or grandchildren from the sidelines of a sporting event. Always well dressed, she transferred her love of fashion into a successful career at the Vested Gentress and Talbots. Eventually, she used her talent for selling clothes to sell homes and became a Top Sales Associate at Long and Foster. Dora Lee was a born storyteller and would often entertain her children with tales of her childhood adventures with her beloved pony, Spicy. A natural born athlete, she was known in her youth as “Antelope Archer” for her amazing speed and ability to play field hockey, basketball, and tennis. Simple pleasures brought joy to Dora Lee. She loved gardening and could often be found spending time outside attending to her plants. Dora Lee loved her family and friends and was well loved by many.
