Doris Margaret Mccomas

Doris Margaret McComas, 89, known as "Peggy" to all her friends and family, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010.

Peggy was born in Baltimore, MD, on January 16, 1921 where she was very active in the Dundalk Moose, VFW, Dundalk Senior Center and Our Lady of Hope Church. Since moving to Columbia in 2002, she made South Carolina her new home. She was surrounded by many friends at her home in the Lakeside Apartments and at her new church, Christus Victor Lutheran, which she came to love.

Surviving are her daughters, Janice Kurtik (Dan) of White Rock, SC, Billie Brittain (Ron) of Chapin, SC, and Kathy Schauman (Albert) of Forest Hill, MD; grandchildren, Lisa Musselman, Harry Pollock III, Carlton Winebrenner, Pamela Danlag, Christopher Schauman and Eric Schauman; great-grandchildren, Candice, Ashley, Carlton, Blake, Alexandra, Amber, Hannah, Scott, Brittney, Christopher and Sarah; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Peggy flew home for burial in Holly Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Baltimore, MD where she will Rest in Peace beside her husband of 60 years, William E. McComas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Parkinson's Association or the American Cancer Society.
