Doris Mae Wernig

DORIS MAE WERNIG, age 74, of Edgewood, Maryland, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, Maryland on May 31, 2003. Born in Everett, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late George Arthur, Sr. and Edmee Marie Mercier Battershall and the wife for 54 years of the late Philip William Wernig, Sr. A resident of Harford County for 31 years, she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Wernig is survived by two sons, Philip William Wernig, Jr. of Abingdon, Maryland; Kurt W. Wernig of Edgewood, Maryland; three daughters, Carol A. Ensley of Ketsch, Germany; D. Lorraine Clarke of Sitka, Alaska; Joann L. Jesser of Pretoria, South Africa; one sister, Eleanor Garofano of Everett, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, David Wernig; Julianna Wernig, both of Maryland; Zachary Clarke; Mackenzie Clarke; and Kelsie Clarke, all of Alaska; Lisa Ensley and Susan Ensley both of New Jersey; and one great-grandson, Donovan Ensley of New Jersey. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, George A. Wernig and one brother, George Arthur Battershall, Jr.
