Doris L. Dombroskie

Doris L. Dombroskie was born in Shamokin, PA in 1927. She had one adopted sister, Rita. Doris and Rita were raised by their mother, who was widowed early in life. Doris married her best friend, John, in 1948. Together, they had six children: John Dombroskie and wife, Lisa, of Pensacola, FL, Jeffrey Dombroskie and wife, Karen, of Bel Air, MD and Michael Dombroskie and wife, Jennifer, of Boalsburg, PA, Cynthia Cosner and husband, Robert, of San Antonio, TX, Sandra Riley and husband, Edward, of Street, MD and Donna Pfeffer of West Grove, PA; grandchildren, Karen Riley Scott, Jennifer Riley Hetrick, Sara Pfeffer, Joseph Pfeffer, Christopherjohn Dombroskie, Laura Dombroskie Bolton, Maya Dombroskie, Eric Dombroskie and Stephen Dombroskie; and great-grandchildren, Abigail Hetrick and Nyckoli Greene. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her sister, Rita Adams and grandson, Michael Dombroskie who died from cancer prior to his 16th birthday. Her beloved husband, John, passed away in 1998, just shy of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Doris was a stay at home mom, working an occasional part-time job here and there. Her life revolved around family. She and John loved the holidays and birthdays, when all the grandchildren would gather. After John's death, she spent a good bit of her winters at her daughter, Cindy's home in San Antonio, TX and her son John's home in Pensacola, FL.

In her free time she liked to read and do crossword puzzles. She liked to play the "slots" and in 2010, accompanied several family members to Las Vegas. She was also a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Bel Air.

The family would like to thank all the staff of Lorien Riverside and Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for the excellent and compassionate care Doris received.
