Doris K. Bowley, age 81, of Forest Hill, MD, died on February 7, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Frankfort, ME, she was the daughter of the late Chester L. and Mildred E. Nelson Drew and wife of the late Clarence W. Bowley Jr. As a nurse, she worked in hospitals and nursing homes in Massachusetts and Maryland and enjoyed working with special needs children in Great Barrington, MA. The "Puppet Doctor", she worked with the puppet ministry where she made and repaired puppets which are now all over the world, and also supported and housed many visiting missionaries with Greater Grace World Outreach. She enjoyed working at Stonewall Day Care for a short time with her daughter.
Mrs. Bowley is survived by sons, David Drew Bowley of Hubbardston, MA and Peter Daniel Bowley of Bangor, ME; daughters, Florence Mae Vaudreuil of Rosedale, MD and Donna L. Bowley of Forest Hill, MD; brother, Clarence Drew of Stockton Springs, ME; sisters, Mary Bowley of Levant, ME and Ruth Viars of Sun City, AZ; eight grandchildren, five great-granddaughters, and one great-great-grandson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Clarence W. Bowley III and two brothers, Francis Drew and Paul Drew.
