DORIS JEAN C. EDWARDS, age 82, of Aberdeen, MD, died on November 9, 2007 at Calvert Manor Nursing Home in Rising Sun, MD, in the company of her children. Born in Aldino, MD, on January 5, 1925,
she was the daughter of the late Emmett Green and Rae Akers Chalk and wife of the late Paul Justice Edwards. She was born and raised in Harford County and resided in Aldino during the majority of her lifetime. She worked for a short time at
Aberdeen Proving Ground during WWII but left her position to raise a family. She and her husband were active members of several square dance clubs in Harford County and in Brooksville, FL where they lived for approximately 16 years after retirement.
She was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She also
enjoyed creating ceramic artwork, sewing, and reading. She donated time to the Abingdon VFW and served as the Ladies’ Auxiliary President while her husband served as VFW Post Commander. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-
grandmother. She was a devout Christian woman that loved and served the Lord, and she was an excellent role model for her family.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by a son, Baron L. Edwards, his significant other, Tina Carr, and her sons, Drew Carr and Nick Carr, of Bel Air, MD; a daughter, Jean Paulette Buckholtz and her husband, Dale James, of Aldino, MD; three grandchildren, Teresa Lyn Weinstein and her husband, Marc Jeffery, of Belcamp, MD; Christopher Allyn Buckholtz and his wife, Suzan Loray, of Bel Air, MD, and Paul Jeffery Edwards of Plano, TX; and five great-grandchildren, Joshua Michael Weinstein and Sara Tillie Weinstein of Belcamp, MD, Christopher Bryan Buckholtz, Morgan Olivia Buckholtz, and Christina Marie White of Bel Air, MD.
