Doris Frances Norton

DORIS FRANCES NORTON, age 77, of Aberdeen, MD, died at her home on July 2, 2006. Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Chambers and Eunice Maxwell Clark and the wife of the late Robert James Norton, Sr. who died on August 22, 1998. She had worked at Raleigh’s Restaurant, White Marsh for many years. She worked in the cafeteria at Harford Community College for 15 years. She had also worked at Stella Maris for 10 years. She loved her church, Asbury United Methodist Church where she had been a member for over 30 years and had been a longtime member of the usher board and was the past president. She collected salt and pepper shakers and enjoyed working her puzzle books. She loved her family. She enjoyed watching her soap operas on a daily basis with her girls.

Doris Norton is survived by six sons, Robert James Norton, Jr. and his wife, Nita, of Baltimore, MD, Eugene Kenneth Norton, and his wife, Peggy, of Aberdeen, MD, Bernard A. Norton, and his wife, Stacey, of Perry Hall, MD, Charles A. Norton of Aberdeen, MD, Lester L. Norton of Bel Air, MD, and Clarence C. Norton and his wife, Sharon of Joppatowne, MD; seven daughters, Matilda M. Clark of Philadelphia, PA, Doris F. Faulkner and her husband, Napolean of Edgewood, MD, Marcia E. Selby and her husband, Barry, of Pemberton, NJ, Vanessa E. Norton of Baltimore, MD, Irene I. Norton of Aberdeen, MD, Donna E. Biggs and her husband, Ronald of Bel Air, MD, and Janice M. Thurman of Jacksonville, MS; two brothers, Alex Clark of Buffalo, NY and Clarence Clark of Philadelphia, PA; 23 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Doris Norton was predeceased by a son, Arnold Norton, a brother, Bernard Clark and a son-in-law, Harold Thurman.
