DORIS C. WATSON, age 73, of Bel Air, made her journey from her home to heaven on July 10, 2004. Born in Aberdeen, she was the devoted daughter of the late George John and Martha Elizabeth Fletcher Creswell, and the beloved wife of the late Louden Archer Watson.
Mrs. Watson’s spirit lives on through her two sons, L. Blane Watson and his wife, Carol of Havre de Grace; F. Shane Watson and his wife, Pam of Aberdeen; one daughter, Jamee Lloyd and her husband, Mark of Bel Air; one brother, George John Creswell of Midlothian, Virginia; one sister, Beverly Longenbach of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Jennifer L. Bandy of Churchville; David Watson of Havre de Grace; Alexander and Juliet Lloyd of Bel Air; April and Amber Watson of Aberdeen.
Doris received highest academic and athletic achievement scholarships from Aberdeen High School where she was crowned “May Queen” during her senior year. She attended Eaton Burnett School of Business in Baltimore. Doris worked as a secretary at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 5 years. She enjoyed being a housewife and mother, cooking, and traveling. Doris was later employed as an instructional assistant and then as a secretary for the Harford County Public School System. For the past 23 years, she was the lead secretary at Meadowvale Elementary School. On July 1st, 2004, Doris had officially retired. As an active member, Doris thoroughly enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher and working with children at the First Baptist Church of Havre de Grace.
Pallbearers were: Shane Watson, Blane Watson, David Watson, Chris Bandy, George Creswell, and Mark Lloyd. Honorary pallbearers were: Bud Longenbach, Greg Reeves, Gordon Grerig, Alex Lloyd, Glen Creswell, and Paul Watson.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Deacons Fund at First Baptist Church of Havre de Grace, 120 S. Stokes Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078.
