Donna Marie (Sweet Pea) Ziolkowski, died peacefully on July 1, 2010 of natural causes at her Joppatowne home in Harford County. She was 33. She survived a childhood accident that left her severely impaired at the age of 2, but went on to graduate from the John Archer School in Harford County. She lived her life with acceptance and determination of spirit that enabled her to participate in family life and be a part of her community, offering hope to others to overcome physical disabilities and enjoy a fulfilling life.
She enjoyed trips to the family's vacation home on the "Jersey Shore", relished outdoor activities with family and friends and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens, her favorite color being purple. Donna Marie was a participant/employer in the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) New Directions Program, and employed 8 outstanding nurses under the auspices of the program.
She is survived by her parents, David and Eileen Ziolkowski of Joppatowne, her sister, Denice Beedenbender and husband, Robert, and her brother, David Ziolkowski, Jr., both of Joppatowne, and a host of many other loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made in memory of Donna Marie Ziolkowski to John Archer School, 100 Thomas Run Road, Bel Air, MD 21015-1600.
