Donald R. Macfarlane

DONALD ROBERSTON MACFARLANE, age 74, of Abingdon, MD, died on February 22, 2009. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Donald Macfarlane and Annie M. Muirhead Macfarlane, and husband of Nancy Jo Macfarlane.

He grew up in Detroit, Michigan. After serving in the US Coast Guard, he graduated from Olivet College in Michigan and married in 1968. He lived in MI, FL, GA, OH, and PA until finally settling in Abingdon, MD 27 years ago. His outgoing and gregarious personality made him a friend to many. He was a life long member of the Presbyterian Church. His greatest passion and proudest accomplishment was his family. He was an absolutely devoted father and grandfather.

Donald is survived by his wife Nancy Jo Macfarlane; Two daughters, Helen Ann Macfarlane of Denver, CO and Beth Ellen Kline of Rising Sun, MD; Son-in-law, James Kline of Rising Sun, MD; Two grandchildren, Anna Eiligh Kline and Kate Ellen Kline, both of Rising Sun, MD.
