DONALD LEE HARWARD, SR., age 81, of Abingdon, died of congestive heart failure in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on May 18, 2004. Born in Aberdeen, he was the son of the late William George and Myrtle May Price Harward. A life long resident of Harford County, he had retired from Baltimore Gas and Electric after 38 years of service as a trouble analyst. He loved traveling, being outdoors, gardening, dining, and woodworking. He served his country in the Army Airforce during WW II completing 1 tour of duty. He was a pilot in command of B17 heavy bombers and the unit instructor for the 351st Bomb Group which was the same unit served by Clark Gable.
Mr. Harward is survived by his wife, Theresa Amelia Feustel Harward; two sons, Donald Harward, Jr. of Erlanger, Kentucky; Ricky S. Harward of Abingdon; one daughter, Sandy Maillet of Hancock, Maryland; six grandchildren, Donald David Harward of Seattle, Washington; Jessica Ann Willoughby; Heather Marie Willoughby; Allison Dawn Willoughby; Nathan Michael Harward, all of Erlanger, Kenntucky; and Shannon Roze Maillet of Hancock, Maryland.
Pallbearers were: Rick S. Harward, Donald D. Harward, Donald L. Harward, Matt L. Schull, Corey S. Maillett, and Nick Goins.
