Donald W. Groom

Donald W. Groom, age 93, of Bel Air, MD passed away on February 24, 2024 at Forest Hill Heights in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Sybil Elma (Shipley) Groom and husband, with whom he cherished 55 years of marriage, to the late Betty (Buckmeier) Groom. Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. He attained a 32nd degree Freemason of the Scottish Rite. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and watching the Orioles and Ravens. Donald also enjoyed being out on the water boating and their shore house at Solomons Island.      

Donald is survived by his two sons, William D. Groom and Stephen R. Groom; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Groom and Jessica Groom; great-grandchild, Adaline Dill. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Richard Scott Groom and sister Naomi Knauer.
