Donald G. Mitchell

Donald G. Mitchell age 82, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on January 7, 2012 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late David C. Mitchell Sr. and Tressa K. Voelker Mitchell. A graduate from the University of Baltimore with a BS Degree, he had served in the Maryland Air National Guard and was a facilities engineer for Martin Marietta from which he retired in 1993 after 46 ½ years.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of 56 years, Loretta Margurite (Lancaster) Mitchell; daughter, Donna L. Newton and husband, Col. Charles B. Newton, Jr., US Army (Ret.), of Goose Creek, SC; and brothers, David C. Mitchell, Jr. and wife Matilda of Fullerton, MD and John A. Mitchell and wife Barbara of Hanover, PA, sister-in-law Gertrude Shepard of Ft. Myers, FL, and nieces and nephews, Debra Ohl, David C. Mitchell III, Kathy Rice, Karen Mitchell, Larry Lancaster, Sharon Taylor, and Sheila Stancel, and neighbor and friend JoAnne Bonney.
