DONALD E. WOLFE, SR., age 78, of Aberdeen, died in Upper Chesapeake
Medical Center on May 26, 2005. Born in Pulaski, Virginia, he was the son of the late Gilbert Porter and Margie Eunice Comer Wolfe. He was the owner of Dew Drop Inn in Baltimore County from 1967-1981. In 1986 he bought Winter’s Run Inn, which his family still manages today. He served his country in the U.S. Navy for 20 years encompassing four wars. He served as a Chief Boatswain's Mate. He was a past Tugmaster on the Tycondaroga. He was a steward of the Chief’s Club in Bainbridge, Maryland and was a charter member of the Elks Club in Edgewood. He was a member of the American Legion in Edgewood as well as the VFW and the Fleet Reserve. He raised emus, llamas, turkeys, and buffaloes on his farm in Aberdeen.
Mr. Wolfe is survived by his wife, Clara Louise Isennock Wolfe; nine sons, Richard A. Wolfe and his wife, Barbara, of Joppa, Phillip M. Wolfe and his wife, Wanda, of Edgewood, Donald E. Wolfe, Jr. and his wife, Patty, of Joppa, James R. Wolfe and his wife, Joan, of Joppatowne, Steven C. Wolfe and his wife, Diane, of Joppa, William D. Wolfe and his wife, Christine, of Douglassville, PA, John E. Wolfe and his wife, Joyce, of Edgewood, Paul A. Wolfe and his wife, Michelle, of Kingsville, and Gary L. Wolfe and his wife, Nancy, of Joppatowne; four daughters, Betty J. Regan and her husband, James, of Santa Rosa, California, Brenda S. Whitlock and her husband, Harry, of Staunton, Virginia, Robin A. Taylor of Aberdeen, and Tina L. Ryan and her husband, Tony, of Pylesville; 29 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Phillip M. Wolfe, Jr., Jimmy L. Roberts, Jr., Justin M. Wolfe, Gary L. Wolfe, Jr., Frank Gullion, and Tom Corcoran. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ralph Medley, Mickey Mills, Richard Donahoo, Parker Vatick, Howard Murphy, and Gilbert Owen.
