Donald ''Don'' James Allen Sr.

Donald "Don" James Allen Sr., age 59, of Abingdon, MD passed away on February 2, 2013 at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William George and Donna Clara House Allen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member, for about 15 years, of the Abingdon Fire Company where he enjoyed helping others in their time of need. Known as "D.J." to most of his family, he was a good brother and a loving husband and father. He loved his grandchildren and was very proud of them.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diane Bevins Allen; son, Don "Donnie" Allen Jr. of Abingdon; daughter, Renee Allen Frank of Abingdon; sister, Jennie Lee Gosnell of Essex; and three grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Billy Allen.
