Donald George Bauerle

Donald George Bauerle, age 90, of Forest Hill, Maryland passed away on June 11, 2023 at Hart Heritage Estates - Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Maywood, Illinois, he was the son of Donald and Ina (Sorensen) Bauerle and husband of the late Joanne Bauerle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served his country in the Korean War in Greenland and enjoyed going to the VFW in Havre de Grace where he was a member. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska in Omaha and retired in 1994 as a physicist at the Ballistic Research Laboratory at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) after 34 years of service. He was a handyman who could fix anything and loved refinishing furniture from antique stores. Donald was a member of the former Spesutie Island Boat Club at APG for over 20 years. He enjoyed sailing and spent many summers on the Chesapeake Bay. 
      
Donald is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Grafton (Stacey); sons, Mike Bauerle (Terri Bergmeier) and John Bauerle (Caroline); grandchildren, Helen Grafton, Kathryn Grafton, Alison Grafton, Juliana Bauerle and Jack Bauerle.
 
In addition to his parents and wife Joanne, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Bauerle and sister, Helen Parr.
