DONALD ALBERT NORRIS, age 89, of Abingdon, died at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD on December 27, 2006. Born on Norris’ Corner on Abingdon Road in Abingdon, MD, he was the son of the late George Britton and Theresa Marie Schultz Norris. He was retired from Black and Decker where he was a machinist who sharpened saw blades. He was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Abingdon, MD. He loved to play bingo and to paint and was a valued artist at Citizens Nursing Home. He collected clocks and enjoyed making anything out of wood and did a lot of carpentry for friends. At the nursing home, he loved to sneak off to the Canteen to get his soda and Snickers bars. He was a veteran who was stationed in the South Pacific during WWII, where he operated search lights. He loved spending time with the family dog, Izzy.
Mr. Norris is survived by three nieces, Margaret A. Peters, and her husband Thomas H. Peters, of Aberdeen, MD, Theresa M. Lowery of Baltimore, MD, and Regina L. Deickman of Baltimore, MD; one nephew, Donald F. Deickman of Abingdon, MD; one great niece, Margaret Hohrein of Bristol, TN; and one great great nephew, Dakota H. Otey of Bristol, TN.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Norris was predeceased by a sister, Theresa M. Deickman.
