Dr. Donal Kennedy “Ken” Walshe, age 53, died unexpectedly of natural causes on May 5, 2018. Ken was an infectious disease specialist practicing in Baltimore, Maryland since 1994. Ken will be forever loved and missed by his wife Stephanie Linder M.D. from Joppatowne, Maryland, their sons Michael and Robert, parents Michael and Patricia, siblings: Anna, Joellen, Seán and Sinéad, parents-in-law Carol and Emory Linder M.D., brothers-in-law: Patrick Haugh, Richard Canning, and Emory (EJ), sisters-in-law Andrea and Cece, three nieces, four nephews, family members, friends, and patients.
Born on November 20, 1964 in Fermoy, County Cork, Ireland, Ken attended secondary school at St. Colman’s College in Fermoy; obtained his medical degree from University College Dublin (1988); completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the VA Medical Center and his infectious diseases fellowship at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC. In 1994 he moved to Baltimore, Maryland and met Stephanie. He joined Anthony & Banerjee MD PA, a private consultancy for infectious diseases. Ken will be remembered fondly for his lively exuberance, thoughtfulness, generosity, contagious cheerfulness, animated conversation, and “irrefutable” opinions as well as his avid interest in opera, gardening, wine, and antique furniture.
Memorial mass will be held at St. Agnes Hospital Chapel at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. 900 Caton Avenue, Baltimore.
